Files that contain user supplied data, such as underlines, notes, and topics, are marked in yellow and should be backed up. These files are automatically backed up on the Palm platform when you hotsync. The Pocket PC platform will need to be backed up using the ActiveSync backup utitlity, or you can manually copy the files from your /Program files/MarkMyScriptures directory over to a folder on your PC.
All other files can be reinstalled from MMSWeb or by rerunning the installation program. The Palm does not usually back up these files automatically due to the time the hotsync operation would take, but you can force a backup of all document related files by going to the PREFS menu and choosing the option to backup ALL document files.
In MarkMyScriptures under the Document menu, there is an option to show orphaned files. Orphaned files are those without a main document file in the same directory. The Orphaned file utility will try to move the file to the document directory, if it exists. If not, it will try to delete the file (after asking if you are sure). In order to make sure the list is current, it is a good idea to refresh the document list before performing a orphaned file operation (with any expansion cards that contain documents already inserted)
