Skimware is closing its online store and will no longer be selling MMSWeb, MarkMyScriptures for Palm OS or Pocket PC devices. It will no longer be possible to register products..

Magazine updates to MMSWeb will continue to the earlier of either (a) January 2011 or (b) a change in the web format at lds.org rendering pages incompatible with the current version of MMSWeb

What is my hotsync/owner id, and where do I find it?
Your hotsync id (Palm) or owner's id (Pocket PC) is the name your computer identifies your device by when you do a hotsync or activesync.  Your MarkMyScriptures registration number is based on this name.  You can find your hotsync or owner id by tapping the "Click here to Register" banner at the bottom of your MarkMyScriptures screen.  It will say, "Please enter the code for _______."  The name in this blank is your hotsync or owner id.  Enter this name when ordering your registration code in the hotsync/owner id are.

What does registering do?  Will I need to download something new after I register?
Registering (paying the $17.50 registration fee) means you will receive a registration code.  When you click the "Click here to Register" banner at the bottom of your MarkMyScriptures screen, you will be able to enter your registration code.  Upon entering a correct code you will be exited from the program.  When you re-enter MMS the nag screen will be gone, and the five note/underline/topic per document restriction will be removed.

  • You do not need to download anything new when you register if you are already using the trial version.  Entering the registration code removes the shareware restrictions.  There is no "full version" that you can download.  You must enter the registration code into a trial version.
  • Registering will not do any of the following:
    • Bring up the scripture files.  If you only see the Instructions file you need to download a free scripture file and install it.
    • Bring up footnotes.  The footnotes visibility preference setting is only usable with the complete scripture files downloaded through MMSWeb.
    • Bring up chapter headings, the Bible Dictionary, Topical Guide, Index, etc.  These files are copyrighted and owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We do not have permission from the Church to distribute these items.  The free scripture files are no longer under copyright and we distribute them free of charge.  You can get the "complete" scriptures by downloading them through MMSWeb.  MMSWeb converts the HTML pages at lds.org into files for your PDA and can download the footnotes, chapter headings, etc. in MMS format.

MMS is asking me for a code. Isn't the trial version free?
The banner across the bottom of the screen is a "nag", a reminder to register. You do not need to register to use any of MarkMyScriptures features. If you do not see the scripture file, click here. The free version of MarkMyScriptures displays the "click here to register" banner and limits marks to five per document. Otherwise it is fully functional.

My code doesn't work.
The code is based on the user name. Send the complete text of the error message screen, for example, "That code is not correct for Bob Brown", to support@skimware.com. You will be sent a new code free of charge.

I need a new code because my user information has changed.
There is no charge to get a new code when your user information changes on your current device, or if you move to a same operating system device (Palm to Palm or Pocket PC to Pocket PC). Send your new information along with your previous hotsync name to support@skimware.com. You will be sent a new code free of charge.

I lost my code.  How do I get it back?
There is no charge to retrieve a code. You can use the Lost Code lookup, to search for your code by last name or email address. If you still cannot locate it, send your name, hotsync id and approximate purchase date to support@skimware.com. Your code will be emailed to you.

I did not receive my code.
Sometimes registration emails are blocked as spam. Occasionally an order will not reach our order system. If you do not receive your code within one business day send an inquiry with your method of purchase (PayPal or credit card) to support@skimware.com. We will update you on the status of your order and resend the code if needed.

Can I switch my code from my old Palm to my new CE device (or vice versa)?
No. MarkMyScriptures for Palm OS and MarkMyScriptures for Windows CE have similar names but are completely different in coding. Each is a separate program and each must be registered separately.
